Is the Shotgun 650 a gimmicky bobber, or custom bike true and through?
The Shotgun 650 by Royal Enfield is presented as a factory custom motorcycle inspired by the custom bike community. There are three variants available: Custom Shed, Custom Pro and Custom Special, each with different levels of customization. It has a chopped rear fender, single seat and slash cut exhaust to give it that bobber look. But some say it's more of a mass produced 'custom style' bike rather than a true one off custom. Some debate surrounds if Royal Enfield has achieved an authentic custom feel or if it’s just playing the bobber card with a production model. The customization options and the overall design aesthetic has inspired heated discussions on what a real custom motorcycle is compared to a factory built imitation.
This is definitely a mass produced bobber style bike rather than a true custom. That's not necessarily a bad thing, though, it makes the bobber look accessible to more riders.
