Is the Ranger Raptor’s fuel economy the deal breaker for everyday driving?

by @ashutosh.kumarover 1 year ago0 views7 answers
Naturally the Ford Ranger Raptor, with its powerful twin turbo V6 engine and performance oriented design, comes with increased fuel consumption than standard midsize trucks. As a result, there have been discussions as to how practical it is as a daily driver, in the city or for those with long commutes. The Raptor is a capable off roader and performs well, but some potential buyers are worried about the long term costs of the Raptor's fuel economy. On the one hand it explains the trade off between performance and efficiency, and on the other the relative extra expense versus the driving experience. Comparisons are also often made to a diesel powered rival or even a hybrid truck.

I wish they would give more efficient engine options to people who want the looks without the fuel penalty.

If you’re not doing crazy long commutes it’s manageable. All you have to do is budget for it and have fun.

Having a rally truck as your daily driver is a small price to pay for the fuel economy.

It's actually not terrible compared to full size trucks. It's all about perspective.

It's definitely a consideration. The truck is great, but the fuel costs do mount up over time.

Mine daily drives and it’s not as bad as everyone makes it to be. It makes up for the fun factor.

It's not great, but if you're buying a Raptor, fuel economy wasn't really your number one consideration.
