Is the popularity of the Nissan Patrol in the Middle East the reason people think it's popular everywhere?

In Middle East countries like UAE, the Nissan Patrol has really become a status symbol and many UAE nationals prefer it. Regional popularity has been the cause of debate about whether or not the Patrol is overestimated in its global appeal. Others think the Patrol's design and features are too Middle East specific, and won't appeal much in other markets. Some say the Patrol's success in such a harsh environment proves its worth around the world. Comparing the Patrol's sales and reputation in different regions, and how Nissan markets the Patrol differently around the world is often a point for discussion. The second focuses on how the Middle Eastern market affects the development of the Patrol and whether this assists or hinders the Patrol’s success in other markets.

Definitely. In the UAE, the Patrol is like a national car, but that does not translate globally. It’s too big and thirsty for most markets.
