Is the Hyundai Inster's quirky looks a hit or a miss?

The Hyundai Inster has been a hot subject of car enthusiast debate. The styling has polarised opinion; some love it, calling it unique and certainly unlike anything else on the road, others compare it to a cross between a Fiat Multipla and a blobfish. The car has an unconventional front fascia, a boxy silhouette and distinctive rear end styling. Some love its bold break from traditional compact car designs, others find it visually unattractive. It is a debate that goes beyond aesthetics, design choices affecting practicality, interior space, and aerodynamics. This polarized look begs the question of where Hyundai is with its design philosophy and whether advances that are this edgy will go over well in markets around the world.

I actually love it! It’s nice to see a car that doesn’t look like every other car on the road. It has character, due to the quirkiness.

It’s a little too out there for me, honestly. I like more classic designs that are going to age well. A few years from now this will look dated.

It's growing on me. I first found it ugly, but the more I look at it, the more I begin to like this uniqueness.

Function over form, folks! It might be a strange design, but it makes the most of interior space, which is the point of a small car.

I think it's a miss. Hyundai is trying too hard to be different. That’s why most cars follow certain design principles.

It’s definitely polarizing, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. Do you recall how people responded to the first generation Prius? Now it's iconic.

The front is fine, but the rear looks like a different team designed it. It's just not cohesive.
