Is the Arash AF-10 practical for use on the road?
Although hypercars tend not to be the most practical of machines and are essentially designed for performance, there is a debate as to whether they are actually usable in the real world. With extreme power output and a complex hybrid system, the Arash AF-10 is questionable on the road beyond short bursts on a track. A car of this caliber will fit in your driveway every day, requires maintenance and is reliable. While some characterize the AF 10 as being too high strung to use besides occasionally, others argue that its advanced technology could actually make it more adaptable to any driving conditions. The broader aspect of ownership of hypercars is discussed, and whether or not they've gone too far with the emphasis on outright speed at the expense of being usable in real life.
No ones daily driving an AF10. It's an ultra rich weekend toy and that's fine.
In fact, the hybrid system could actually make the system more practical than pure ICE hypercars. Picture driving in city centers on electric only mode.
Practicality? In a 2,080 bhp hypercar? Wrong questions, my friend. That’s not about being practical, it’s about the experience.
I'd be more concerned that you'd end up going through great lengths to use all that power legally. This is probably more practical than we give it credit for, limited only by laws and roads.
The real question is maintenance. I bet with such a complex system it spends more time in the shop than on the road.
With any luck, Arash has done their homework and the AF-10 could actually be quite usable. Modern hypercars are becoming better all rounders.
Practicality is relative. It may be perfectly practical for a billionaire with private roads and a team of mechanics.
The on the low speed maneuverability of these Cars is oft en forgotten. If they’ve got this sorted then it might be more user friendly than we thought it would be.
