Is Tata Punch’s infotainment System a deal breaker?

by Ashutoshover 1 year ago0 views7 comments
Infotainment has come to play a large part in what many buyers want in a car and is often very high on the list of what drives a person to buy a car. Across the Tata Punch's system has suffered from mixed reviews — some rave about its features and that it’s easy to use, while others deride it for laggy performance, having limited functionality, and poor connectivity. As a result, there has been discussion about how much infotainment should be part of a budget car; whether a local system is of greater value than smartphone connectivity; and if Tata's software upgrades are keeping pace with their improvements in the rest of the car. The broader discussion on the trend of an increase of digitization in vehicles and whether it is always a good development is discussed too.

The screen is quite nice. Sunlight isn't very great for it.

I think it is great, coming from an older car, which has no screen at all. It’s easy maybe, I’m easily impressed, but it does everything I need.

Tata software really needs to step up their game though. Helps a good amount if you're getting regular updates.

I have the built in system and I basically never use it. Rather, I simply connect my phone and instead use that interface. Works great that way.

For the price point though, it was pretty good. Of course, compared to more expensive cars, it’s not the slickest of drives but it has all of the features you actually need.

Sometimes I find it frustratingly slow. The lag can be very annoying if you’re used to a snappy smartphone. That's my biggest gripe with car.

It doesn't do it the best, but it does it. And it works with Android again for everything I really need. Not a deal-breaker for me.
