Is Kia Seltos X Line's matte paint worth the extra hassle of maintenance?
The Seltos X-Line has a unique matte paint finish that really sets it apart on the road. But matte paint is notoriously hard to keep up with and can be very easily damaged by the wrong washing techniques or environmental factors. The distinctive look is loved by some owners, hated by others, and hated more by those who have to maintain it. Some consider the cool factor too big a tradeoff, especially when it means extra cleaning products, hand washing and the possibility of bird poop or tree sap. Additionally, the matte finish makes minor scratches more easily apparent and more difficult to repair. It does hide dust and dirt better than glossy paint on the flip side. The matte finish is questionable for a daily driver, but for someone who wants a head turning ride, it might be worth it.
Totally worth it! My X-Line has matte paint on it, and people turn their heads when I go anywhere. It’s not the most beautiful car around, but it needs some more TLC, which is what owning a unique car is all about.
