For years the Honda Unicorn has been one of the most reliable motorcycles for everyone in the Indian market with a smooth ride. With the GP edition now, Honda appears to be giving this commuter favorite a little bit of sporty panache. Is it just another marketing gimmick, or does it bring something new? The improved handling and sportier look are what some riders swear by, while others argue it’s just the same old Unicorn with fancy stickers. So let's dive into what actual owners and enthusiasts think about this supposedly more sporty version of the classic Unicorn.

The sportier image of the GP might also give a confidence boost to new riders. Sometimes that mental edge is what you need to up your skill level.

The GP cost me, and I just thought it would be a huge upgrade. It’s nice, but I probably built it up too much in my head. The bike is good, but don’t expect it to change your riding experience.

If you're into the aesthetics, the GP is totally worth it. Performance's similar, but sometimes it's half the fun of riding to look good!

I use my Unicorn for daily commuting, so the GP upgrades are wasted on me. It looks cool, but it doesn't make sense on the bike; it's like putting racing slicks on a minivan.

It’s totally hype, but not in the way Honda probably hoped. Unicorn enthusiasts now regard the GP edition as a collector’s item. While the performance gains are marginal at best, it’s a bit of unique Honda history.

I rode both, and while the differences are subtle, they do seem slightly more responsive in the corners on the GP. That depends on how much you value those marginal gains.

It's honestly just a regular unicorn with stickers slapped on it. Don’t spend your money on the standard version; you get the same reliable bike without having to pay for the markup.

It's definitely worth it! It is better tuned for suspension than the GP edition, and the handling difference is noticeable. And the racing stripes give me a feeling of being a MotoGP star on my way to work.
