In city traffic, how does the Aprilia STX 150 fare in comparison to 150cc bikes?
Riding in the city is often unique for motorcyclists, who have to conquer tight spaces and stop and go traffic. As a relatively compact bike, the Aprilia STX 150 looks like it could be a decent urban commuter. Yet there is still talk about how it compares to other popular 150cc models in city conditions. Its maneuverability, acceleration from stops, and overall comfort in those tedious rush hour crawls, are the things riders are curious about. Now let’s take a look at what owners and test riders have experienced while taking the STX 150 through the urban jungle.
In city traffic the STX 150 is a beast! It's nimble enough to go between cars, and it's got great low end torque to get away quickly.
In heavy traffic, I found it a bit twitchy. I feel more stable on something like a Yamaha YZF R15.
It’s okay, but the seating position isn’t the best for long waits at traffic lights.
The STX shines in the city. It is a joy to ride in urban environments due to having light clutch, responsive throttle, and good visibility.
I'd say it's average. Not bad, but nothing to write home about among other 150cc bikes around the city.
It has a narrow profile that’s great for filtering, but the suspension can be a bit harsh on pothole pocked city streets.
It's a mixed bag. Acceleration is great, as is handling, but in slow traffic the heat from the engine is annoying.
The STX is perfect for city commuting, it’s what I love. In crowded urban areas, it’s fuel efficient and easy to park.
