How good is the Dominar 250's engine refinement, really, as Bajaj claims?

The engine of the Dominar 250 is smooth and refined according to Bajaj, which has marketed the motorcycle as good for both city riding and highway cruising. But there’s still a debate among riders about how refined, or not refined, it actually is in the real world. There are some users that complain about experiencing noticeable vibration at specific RPM ranges, but then some also applaud its smoothness. These perceptions are affected by factors such as break in period, maintenance habits and sensitivity to vibrations of the individual. I also talk about how the engine's character evolves through time and mileage. The question then arises as to whether the Dominar 250 truly is a smooth operator in all the riding situations that it aspires to, or does it make any compromises that potential buyers ought to know about? What is the overall engine refinement and level of NVH on other bikes in the class?

The first 1000 km was pretty rough for mine, but it's definitely gotten much smoother since then. I think a lot of those complaints are from people who didn’t break in their engines properly.

The Dominar 250 feels surprisingly more smoother in comparison to a KTM. It's all relative, I guess. I think Bajaj did a good job with refinement, for the price point.

It's a mixed bag. Below 5000 RPM, it's great. Then, the vibes begin creeping in above that. Not a deal-breaker, but definitely noticeable on long rides.

It's surprisingly smooth. It settled down nicely after the break in period. As long as you keep up with oil changes, it will stay that way.

It all depends on how you ride it. It's butter smooth if you keep it in the mid range. Rev it out and you will get some vibrations. That’s true for most bikes in this class.

I would say Bajaj overhyped it a bit. For a Bajaj it's refined, but not in comparison to something like a Honda. At highway speeds you'll definitely feel some buzziness in the bars and pegs.

For a single cylinder engine, it’s pretty damn smooth in my experience. Yes it does have some vibes at high RPMs, but nothing like my old Pulsar.
