How does the Z500's real world fuel consumption compare to what Kawasaki says?

Riders trying to commute their bikes daily will be interested in how fuel efficient the bike is. Such fuel economy figures are impressive for the Z500, but in the real world, they often don’t live up to manufacturers’ claims. Actual fuel consumption depends on factors like how you ride, the type of traffic and the maintenance. Some riders are getting better mileage than they expected, others are filling up more often. Debates often surround the Z500's fuel economy, comparing it to both smaller and larger displacement models, and whether or not the bike gets the right balance between performance and economy. How the bike's fuel efficiency compares to different types of riding is also discussed, from city stop and go traffic to highway cruising.

On my daily commute, I’m averaging about 65 mpg, and that’s pretty close to what Kawasaki claims. For a 500cc bike with decent power, not bad!
