How does the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder’s infotainment system compare to the competition?
Modern vehicles have infotainment systems that are now becoming a big part of the buying decision. The Hyryder’s system is frequently compared to systems offered by rivals, especially Korean and European brands renowned for their tech first approach. In this comparison, we look at screen size and resolution, user interface design, responsiveness, the feature set (wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay, for example) and overall ease of use. Some buyers will choose the latest tech features, even if they don’t use those features, while others just want simple, reliable systems. It also raises questions about Toyota's traditionally conservative attitude towards in car technology, and whether the Hyryder is a big leap forward in that regard for the brand.

The physical keys for key functions are great. Driving and having to dig through menus is something I hate.

Toyota has taken a step up but is still a generation behind the best in class. Hopefully they will update it soon.

Even in the base model, the sound quality is surprisingly good. Some of the UI shortcomings are made up for by that.

I love it! Not flashy, but reliable and no lagging like some of the other systems I have used.

It works, but if you're coming from a phone like experience in other cars, you will be a bit disappointed.

A big miss is the lack of wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. In 2024 it feels behind the times.

I actually like Toyota's simpler approach. It is easy to use and does not distract you while driving.

It's OK, but not class leading. The UI design is a bit dated compared to the Koreans, but the screen is responsive.
