How does the RC213V S stack up to other 'race replicas' such as the Ducati Superleggera V4?
In the motorcycle market, many have tried to bring race technology to the streets, and the Ducati Superleggera V4 and BMW HP4 Race are pushing the boundaries of what's possible in a production motorcycle. They are cutting-edge technology, exotic materials, and performance that blurs the line between road and race machines. But the Honda RC213V S takes this idea to another level by being a bike based directly on a current MotoGP bike. It’s hard to imagine equipping such an electronic platform suddenly took the load off the legs or that it was a faster, capable ride compared to their ancestral machines. Do the differences matter enough to justify the huge price gap, or are these ultra-exclusive bikes offering diminishing returns at some point?
There's no league for the RC213V-S. Others are souped-up production bikes, but the R9 is the only true replica of a MotoGP bike.
The Superleggera V4 is probably faster and more usable on the street, honestly. The Honda is really more of a collector's item.
They're different beasts. The Ducati is an evolution of a road bike; the Honda is a detuned race bike.
I'd take the Superleggera and a couple of other bikes for the price difference. More bang for your buck.
The Superleggera has more relevant tech for road riding than the RC213V S is cool. Most people, however, that’s the smarter choice.
Both don’t make sense for street use, but the Honda is the ultimate track day flex.
The Ducati feels more special. It’s just too compromised by road regulations to be a true MotoGP experience.
It's apples and oranges. For Ducatisti it's the Superleggera; for Honda fanboys, the RC213V-S. They are both incredible in their own way.
