How does the Mercedes EQS 450 4Matic fair in the real world compared to the German manufacturer's claimed range?

The EQS 450 4Matic boasts an impressive range, as advertised by Mercedes-Benz, but like most electric vehicles, the manufacturer’s claims can differ quite a bit from real world performance. Driving style, weather conditions and use of climate control can have a big impact on an EVs range. However, some EQS owners report getting close to, or even beyond, the claimed range, while others don’t. As a result, discussions include the accuracy of range estimates, the effect of different driving conditions and how the EQS fares with other luxury EVs in terms of efficiency. In terms of luxury EVs, range also plays a role in the debate, as range is something owners of such vehicles might be comfortable sacrificing to get the most comfort and performance.

So far, I’ve had a pretty close range experience to what Mercedes claims, more specifically during highway trips. Over 350 miles on a single charge I’ve gotten several times.

It's hit or miss. In ideal conditions, you can get pretty close to the advertised range, for sure. However, it plummets when you add in some cold weather or heavy AC use. Though, still better than most EVs.

In the real world, I've found the range to be about 10 to 15 percent less than advertised. It’s not terrible, but it’s a bit disappointing for such an expensive car.

Road trips are great, but city driving seems to burn the battery up quicker than expected. I think that's the weight of the car coming through.

Haha it really depends on how you drive. When you're gentle with the accelerator and use the regen braking effectively you can actually get more range than the claimed range. Drive it like a typical Mercedes though, and you will come short.

It has good range, but what’s more impressive is how consistent it is. The EQS doesn’t seem to lose as much range in cold weather, unlike some other EVs.

The range has been a pleasant surprise. With the 4Matic system, which you'd imagine would lower efficiency, I'm getting numbers that are just a hair off of what Mercedes promises.
