How does the Fazer8 fare in 2025? Is it still relevant?

With each new release of motorcycle technology, older models such as the Yamaha Fazer8 like to be questioned about their continued place in today's market. Should the Fazer8 be considered an ongoing viable design and performance? This is what riders are debating as the bike struggles to keep up with newer bikes that are now equipped with sophisticated electronics, better fuel economy and updated styling. There are those that defend the idea that the simplicity and assured reliability of the Fazer8 constitute timeless quality, and those that consider it passé compared to the latest fashion. It usually includes a discussion of the bike’s value proposition, parts and upgrades availability and how it compares to its modern successors and contemporaries. We also hear from owners about what it’s like to keep the bike up-to-date and whether they feel they need to upgrade to a newer model.

In 2025, it is still a great bike. Of course, it isn't a fancy model with all the up to date electronics, but that’s part of its charm. It's pure riding.

I think it is starting to show its age. Lacking rider aids such as traction control and cornering ABS, it feels a bit 20th century in its approach to engine braking.

The Fazer8 is timeless. You get all the power and handling you need without the complexity of a modern bike. And they're bulletproof reliable.

I test rode a new MT-09 not long ago and it made my Fazer8 look ancient. Now the technology gap is really noticeable.

So if you're after a no frills do it all bike, it's still relevant. Not all of the latest tech gadgets on a motorcycle are needed or wanted by everyone.

I love my Fazer8, but it’s getting harder to justify keeping it when there are so many great new options available.

The bike itself is still brilliant, but finding parts is getting more difficult. The biggest downside of sticking with an older model in 2025 is that.

It's a classic now! The Fazer8 has aged well like a fine wine. It has character that a lot of these new computerized bikes do not have.

It depends on what you’re after I think. If you’re after the newest and best, no, it doesn’t apply. However, if you’re after a solid, reliable all rounder, it’s hard to beat the Fazer8.

In some areas, the lack of Euro 5 compliance is becoming a real issue. The bike itself is still fantastic, but it’s a shame because emissions regulations are making it obsolete.
