How does the Aeroride YB2000’s real world range measure up against its claimed 80-120 km range?

While electric scooter manufacturers often tout impressive range figures, real world performance can be quite different, depending on everything from riding style to terrain, weather, and how much you’re lugging around. In the segment, the Aeroride YB2000 claims a range of 80 to 120 km on a single charge. But a few users and reviewers have reported having different results in their day to day use. This has led to a discussion among potential buyers and EV enthusiasts regarding the usable range of the YB2000 in normal Indian riding conditions. The scooter’s range promises are being shared by people, and they are trying to figure out if the scooter can live up to its claims, compared to the more established electric scooter brands that have been around longer.

I’ve been getting around 90-100km consistently in mixed city riding in my experience. Not far off the claimed range.

If you ride aggressively or use the top speed mode often like I did, it's more like 60-70 km. By the advertised range, there is definitely optimism.

The range has proven to be very weather dependent. But in summer when the battery heats up, it drops to about 70-80 km.

I’m averaging about 75 km per charge with a pillion rider. It’s not bad, but definitely lower than the claimed range.

It's painfully slow but the eco mode gets me close to 110 km. In normal mode it’s more like 85–90 km.

I've used it for 6 months now and noticed the range has dropped to about 70-80 km, maybe normal battery degradation but worth considering.

I'm actually impressed. Consistently getting around 100 km in Bangalore traffic. Perhaps the stop and go nature assists with regenerative braking?

Mansi on 17 January 2025 00:46
It's hit or miss. I sometimes get 100+ km on some days, and sometimes 70+ km on others, it seems very sensitive to riding conditions.

The range anxiety is real. It’s always the battery meter that I find myself constantly watching and I rarely push it beyond 70-80 km just to be safe.

Pro tip: Be gentle with the throttle and use regenerative braking to your advantage and you can almost get to the claimed range. It takes practice though!
