Does the Verna's premium features come with a premium build quality?

Hyundai Verna has been promoted as a feature rich premium compact sedan with a long list of high end amenities that are mostly found in more expensive cars. But there is much debate about whether the car’s feature set is matched by its build quality and durability. Owners of the Verna praise the solid feel and quality materials of the car, but others feel that there are panel gaps, plastic quality, or long term durability issues. Often we discuss this with a comparison to competitors like Honda City or Volkswagen Virtus, which some deem to have better build quality. At this price point, this debate also plays out as a trade off between features and build quality, and whether Hyundai has got the balance right. On one hand, some say it is the abundance of features that makes up for any shortcomings in build, while on the other they argue long term durability should trump gadgets.

I have not been impressed with the build quality of Verna, but it’s decent. It's solid enough, if you look closely there are some cheap plastics.

It's the people's fault, I think they expect too much. At the price point, you get an amazing balance of features and quality in the Verna. It's not a luxury car, but it's not priced as one either.

The build quality is fine, but I wish they'd have used a bit more of premium materials throughout the cabin instead of the gimmicky features.

Verna has been with me for two years and it feels as solid as day one. No rattles, no issues. I think the build quality is underrated.

The Verna, however, feels a bit less robust than my friend’s Honda City. The Verna has so many more features for the price, but then again.

On the exterior build, it seems great, but a few of the interior bits feel a bit flimsy. I guess you have to pay the price for all the tech they've crammed into it.

I think it’s just a matter of what you value. It’s not a tank build, if you’re looking for one. However, if you want a modern, feature packed car that can still be called decently built, the Verna is hard to beat.
