Does the S-Presso’s unique design help it stand out or just look awkward?

But the S-Presso’s boxy, upright design has certainly been a talking point since its launch. The mini-SUV look Maruti was aiming for has been polarizing opinions. Others appreciate its quirky charm and the space maximization it brings in a sea of similar looking hatchbacks. But others brand it ungainly and disproportionate, especially when it is viewed from some angles. Aerodynamics and fuel efficiency have also been questioned about the design's impact. The discussion is ongoing of whether Maruti was able to lend an identity to the S-Presso that was distinct enough from other offerings, or if they overdid it, trying to make it stand out too much, losing more conservative buyers in the process.

It's definitely unique and in a so ugly it's cute kind of way. It grows on you over time.

The design is a disaster. It’s like a toaster on wheels. As a car, I can't take it seriously.

I actually prefer it standing out. You can spot it instantly in a parking lot full of samey hatchbacks.

From some angles it's awkward, but from the front view it's pretty cool. Unlike most budget cars, it's got character.

It’s a practical design for maximizing interior space, but aesthetically it’s a bit of a mess.

Maruti seems to have tried too hard to make it look different. Sometimes simple is better.

I think it looks quirky and fun. A conventionally attractive car is not required for every car.
