Does the iGO’s unique headlight design of the TVS Raider 125 affect its practicality?
The bike, the TVS Raider 125 iGO has a unique LED headlight design which makes it different from other bikes in its segment. Some riders love the modern, aggressive look, but others are worried about how it will work. The debate over whether the unique shape and LED arrangement provide enough illumination in poorly lit roads and bad weather conditions remains open. Others insist that the design sacrifices safety for style. Some argue that the LED technology provides better visibility than halogen setups do. The durability and replacement cost of the headlight have also been discussed. Is TVS stretching the design envelope in the commuter segment or have they compromised on utility for the sake of being different?
I actually like the headlight design though. It’s cool to look at and different from other bikes. It’s also pretty well illuminated, better than on my old bike with halogen bulb.
If you ask me, it’s style over substance. I'm not sure it gives the best light spread, and the shape is weird. I would rather have a more traditional design that I know does well.
I’m starting to like the headlight. I thought at first it was for show, but it gives very good visibility at night. The only downside is that if it gets damaged, replacement might be expensive.
I feel TVS went too far off with design. On a commuter bike, it looks out of place and I'm worried about how this will age. In addition, I’ve heard some people complain about glare from oncoming traffic.
I ride a lot at night and I like the LED setup. Its unique shape actually makes it stand out to other drivers, and the light is bright and clear.
There is a little bit of polarizing headlight design, but I think it works. The functionality is there, and it gives the bike more of a feel of a premium. Nice to see some innovation in the commuter segment.
I don’t like the headlight. I feel TVS is trying too much to make the bike look sporty. For daily use I would just prefer something simpler and more functional.
