Does the Hyundai Tucson's soft suspension curse or bless?
Soft suspension setup makes Tucson a rollicking ride. This aids in making for a plush experience on smooth roads, and helps absorb bumps and potholes, but some driver find it too floaty. The consequence of this suspension tuning is increased body roll in corners, and a less engaging driving experience for those that like a sportier feel. Also, the soft setup may not be sufficient for fully loaded trips or when towing. On the flip side, it’s great for daily commutes and long highway drives in bad road conditions. The question is, is this comfort oriented approach the right thing for a modern crossover SUV or should Hyundai offer a sportier suspension for those that want a more dynamic driving experience?
I absolutely love the soft suspension. I take it on my daily commute on pothole riddled city streets and it's perfect. Why do I need a stiff sports car to get to work comfortably?
