Touted as a new game changer in the world of high performance vehicles, the Arash AF-10's 'Warp Drive' hybrid system is said to propel the car from 0 to 62mph in just a touch over 2.5 seconds. With a supercharged V8 and four electric motors, and with a claimed 2,080 bhp total output, this is a unique powertrain. Whereas many other hybrid hypercars use one or two electric motors in combination with a combustion engine, this setup is different. The idea to have multiple electric motors, each with its own gearbox, has caught the curiosity of car enthusiasts and industry specialists. On paper the 'Warp Drive' system could really be insane... but I wonder how could it be used in the real world. Simple hybrid setups have fewer points of failure than four electric motors.
It's innovative for sure. It could have incredible traction and handling due to the ability to have power at each wheel. It could be a game-changer if they can make it reliable.

This system must have insane cooling requirements. In real world driving conditions, I would be worried about heat management.

The idea is cool, but I wonder if all that is marketing gimmick rather than really solving a problem at hand. Sometimes simpler is better.
