Can I swap the Amo Mobility Jaunty i Pro’s battery for extended range?

by Sukhmandeep Kaurover 1 year ago0 views9 comments
A common concern for e scooter riders is battery range. E scooter riders with longer commutes or those who use their scooters for multiple trips throughout the day find this to be a problem. This can be a game changer, and extending the use of the battery without long charging breaks. Not all e scooters include this feature, but some do. There's debate about whether the battery in the Jaunty i Pro is user replaceable or what aftermarket options exist. Swappable batteries are necessary for true all day use, say their proponents, while others say the scooter's standard range is sufficient for most urban riders. It also discusses the weight, cost and design implications on the scooter. In this post, we will take a look at if the Jaunty i Pro supports battery swapping and what that would mean for the bike as a daily rider.

You'd expect a swappable battery, but for urban commuting the standard range suffices. Just plan your charges so.

The fixed battery encourages better trip planning. Through this, I’ve learned how to optimize my routes and my charging schedule, and it’s actually turned me into a more efficient rider.

There are some DIY tutorials out there for the battery to be removable, but it will void the warranty. Some might find it worth the risk, but I am not risking it.

A swappable battery would be nice, but let's face it, for the money, we're not surprised. You get what you pay for.

To be honest, I like the integrated battery. This keeps it sleek and less likely to be stolen. It’s one less thing to worry about maintaining, plus.

I found it's not swappable, but carrying a portable charger helps extend the range when needed. It’s not ideal, but it works for occasional longer trips.

The dealbreaker for me is the non swappable battery. I want the flexibility to just go out on a longer ride and not have to worry about running out of juice.

I'd heard rumors of swappable aftermarket batteries but nothing official. I'd love to extend the range for weekend trips though, so that would be a great feature.

The bad news is that the battery isn't a simple swappable affair on the Jaunty i Pro. For longer rides this is a bummer, but having the standard range is plenty for my everyday needs.
