But does Sonet Anniversary Edition's styling really set it apart on Indian roads?
The Kia Sonet Anniversary Edition gets several distinctive styling bits that make it stand out from the standard model. There are beefier looking skid plates on the front and rear bumpers, new side skid plates, and tangerine accents on various parts of the exterior. There's also an Anniversary Edition emblem to mark its special status and the grille has been revised with more orange accents. The aim of these design changes is to make the car look sporty and a little rugged than it was previously. But on Indian roads, which are full of various vehicles and customizations, there is a debate about whether these changes are really enough to make the Anniversary Edition distinct. Some say the changes are too subtle, while others say they help make the Sonet stand out in its segment.
I think it does stand out, but not in a flashy way. But the tangerine accents aren’t over the top.
I have to say, I've seen regular Sonets with some aftermarket mods that look more distinctive. Indian tastes are too subtle for the Anniversary Edition.
It depends on what color you pick. The orange accents really pop in Gravity Grey. Not so much in lighter colors.
For car enthusiasts, it probably stands out more because they notice the details. The average person wouldn’t pick it up.
The skid plates definitely give it more of a rugged look. If you park it next to a regular Sonet, you can tell.
It looks no different than other compact SUVs in traffic. The changes are not head turning, but they are nice.
It must stand out somewhat because I've had people ask about my Anniversary Edition. The touches are pretty unique orange.
