As a small business or gig worker delivery vehicle, how does the Jaunty S fare?

by @sukhmandeepover 1 year ago0 views10 answers
Thanks to the growth of food delivery and quick commerce services, electric scooters have become a cheaper alternative for short range deliveries. The Jaunty S appears to be an affordable proposition with low running costs. However, there are questions as to its load capacity, range for multiple deliveries and durability under heavy use. And there are some users who have replaced their stock Swiss wheel with a larger wheel to fit in more pedals, or added additional storage solutions, while others are worried that riding with a backpack could affect battery life. In this article we will discuss the pros and cons of using the Jaunty S as a small scale delivery platform and whether or not they can be a replacement for traditional petrol scooters in this role.

It has been great for my small catering business. It’s perfect for delivering a few orders at a time in my neighborhood.

A used petrol scooter is cheaper upfront, but it’s cheaper to run.

I love how low maintenance it is as a part time delivery rider. No oil changes and no engine worries.

For light loads it's decent, but I wouldn't trust things too heavy with it. That suspension isn't built for that.

The removable battery is very convenient. During busy periods I always keep a spare charged at my shop for quick swaps.

I used it to deliver but the range was too limited. It was stressful constantly worrying about charging.

My local courier service is a game changer. It is great for residential areas because of its silent operation.

The problem is a lack of storage. I had to spend a bit of money on a custom rack system to make it work for me.

Its low running costs make it ideal for small businesses. Saved a ton on fuel for my flower shop deliveries.

I’ve been using mine for food delivery part time. The limited speed is an issue for timed deliveries, but it’s great for short trips.
