Will the reported focus on rear seat space for the Kia Clavis turn out to be a game changer for Uber/Ola drivers?

That's an interesting angle, but I think Kia's really more focused on family buyers. It would be a bonus to the ride hailing market rather than the main target.

They're amazing! I drove a 12 hour road trip and felt like I had a first class seat on a plane. The best car seats I have ever used.

Overrated. The leg rest is useless unless you’re short, but they look cool. I’d prefer seats that are easy to remove for cargo.

For a couple of hours, it was comfortable enough — but since they weren’t capable of fully reclining or stretching out, really long trips were beginning to take a toll on me.

Kids and average sized adults will love them, but if you are tall you will find them a bit restrictive.

But I worry about durability, and it is nice and comfortable. I think all those motors and adjustments sound like they could break.

For daily use, I love them, but for road trips I actually prefer sitting in the third row where I can lay across the seats.

For parents they're a game changer. I wouldn't be able to swivel and pay attention to the kids in the back and be comfortable.
I wonder if the swiveling seats of the Ioniq 9 will influence the family car market.

I think it's a game changer for families. How about being able to face your kids on long trips, or a mobile conference room for work? It’s kind of like having a minivan’s versatility in a cooler package.

That sounds like a maintenance nightmare waiting to happen. The more moving parts, the more things that can break. No thanks, I'll stay with regular seats.

It’s a neat party trick, but I’m not sure how often anyone is going to actually use the thing. You just want to face forward and drive most of the time.

For people with mobility issues this could be huge. Some folks might find it easier to get in and out if they were able to swivel the seat towards the door.

I wonder about the safety side of it. How do these seats behave in a crash? I wouldn't trust my family in those until I saw some serious testing.

It's innovative, but I’m afraid it'll make the price too high. Of course, cool features are great, just as long as they don’t price the car out of the reach of the average family.

This might be the beginning of a whole new interior design philosophy. If it takes off, we could see a whole lot more flexible seating in future cars.

Rear seats are pretty comfy for a hatchback. The seat cushioning is just right for long trips and good leg room.

It's okay, but not great. On this count, compact SUVs have the upper hand, because of their higher seating position and better headroom.

Though there's not as much rear space as you'd get from one of Hyundai's bigger cars (like the Venue), I find the i20's seats are comfier than most in any hatchback.

For two adults, it's fine. You can't fit three in the back, it's a squeeze. Hump in transmission tunnel doesn't help.

The seats are comfortable, but for some passengers the rising window line makes it feel a bit claustrophobic.
