Looks fragile to me. With that setup, I wouldn’t want to hit a pothole.

If it does work well, other brands will simply copy it. If not, it'll be a fun footnote in RE's history.

RE taking risks is pretty awesome, I think. The Flying Flea is sick and I can tell they're not stuck in the past.

No way, it's too much. I want my RE to be a classic bike and not a futuristic concept.

It is perfect for a second bike. Use this for commuting and keep your Classic 350 for weekend rides.

The performance and reliability are the things I’m more concerned about, not the design.

There’s something to be said for the charm of the Cruiser 650. It’s got soul, even if it doesn’t have all the bells and whistles of a Honda or Kawasaki. And it’s much cheaper than most of its competitors.

I’ve ridden a Harley Street 750 and the RE Cruiser 650. It is more refined on the Harley, but the RE is more fun. It’s like comparing a fancy restaurant to street food; both good, but totally different vibes.

But the Cruiser 650 does honestly feel a bit dated compared to something like a Kawasaki Vulcan S. The RE has character, but it lost on modern day features and smooth power delivery.

I've owned a Honda Rebel 500 and a RE Cruiser 650 and the RE wins on character, but loses on reliability. It’s a trade-off between having a ride no one else has and peace of mind.

It is in a league of its own. It's not trying to be a Harley or a Japanese cruiser. The RE is what you want if you want something that turns heads and has a backstory to it. If you’re looking for cutting edge tech, look elsewhere.
Is the Royal Enfield Cruiser 650 as customizable as other bikes in its class?

The Cruiser 650 is a blank canvas! It's already got a decent selection of aftermarket parts, and it's growing. Also, the design is pretty simple so DIY mods are pretty easy.

The options are very limited compared to something like a Harley. But that's changing fast. But, I’ve seen some really cool custom Cruiser 650s that don’t look anything like the stock bike.

It’s not as customizable as one might expect. Yes, you could add some chrome bits and switch out the seat, but it’s still modest mods. A few years from now, I can see the scene exploding, though.

The Cruiser 650 is so easy to work on, and I love that. There may not be as many off the shelf parts for some other kind of bikes, but you can build a lot of stuff yourself. It's part of the fun!
Is the Royal Enfield Cruiser 650 as customizable as other bikes in its class?
09 January 2025 10:14
There’s potential for customization, but be careful. I’ve seen people go crazy and ruin the classic look of the bike. It’s all about the right balance.
Is the Royal Enfield Cruiser 650 as reliable and as well built as the hype suggests?
09 January 2025 10:14
I've put 20,000 km on my Cruiser 650 and it's rock solid. It's not Japanese level reliable, but it's a lot better than REs of old. As long as you keep up with maintenance you’ll be fine.
