Is the Guerrilla 450 for new riders too powerful?

I would argue that it is too much for a complete beginner. If you have no experience, start with something smaller like a Classic 350 or Hunter 350 and move up to the Guerrilla.

It depends on the individual. Some of these new riders can handle the power responsibly, they are naturally cautious. Some could get in over their heads. Sometimes it's more about maturity than experience.

I think it's fine for new riders as long as you take proper training courses and respect the bike's capabilities – I started on a Guerrilla 450. If you know how to use the controls, the power is there but it’s not intimidating.

Let’s be honest, 40 bhp isn’t a lot in the grand scheme of things. That's more than enough power for a serious new rider. Don't be an idiot with the throttle, just don't.

From older RE models, the build quality is definitely a step up. It all feels more solid and put together. They've obviously learned a lot from the 650 twins and newer 350cc models.

I'm not entirely convinced. It's better than old school REs but still with issues on panel gaps and paint quality. It’s good, but not great compared to Japanese bikes in the same price range.

I’ve got 10,000 km on my Guerrilla 450, and the build quality has been fantastic. All still feels tight and rattle free, no major issues.

Overall, it's good quality, but there are some of the more usual RE quirks. Some of the plastics are cheap and the switchgear could use some work. That's an improvement, but we can still do better.

People are too harsh on RE I think. For the price point, the Guerrilla 450 is well built. It’s not premium, but it’s sturdy where it counts and has a bit of character that more clinical bikes lack.

200,000 combinations? That's insane! If I was just going to stick with a couple or three that I like. Cool to have options though.

I think it will smoke ICE bikes in the city. Instant torque for the win! In terms of traditional bikes though, they might still have the advantage on long stretches of highway or long off road sessions.

Although there’s no engine braking or clutch control, this could be tricky in technical off road situations. There, ICE scramblers still have an advantage.
