It is safer, I would say, because mechanics know these cars inside out. This is critical for taxis and any issues get spotted and fixed quickly.

Safer? No way. The car is budget with the usual safety features. Popular doesn't mean safer. I'd much rather have a safe, heavy car with the latest and greatest.

Familiarity is what makes it safe. Because they've taken so many Tour H3 taxis, passengers can easily spot if something's off. It's crowd sourced safety check.

Let’s be honest, it’s probably as safe as any other budget taxi. We just think it must be popular so that makes it safe. These taxi versions should really be upped in the safety game by Maruti.

I think it's safer in terms of crash protection, but maybe not in terms of maintenance. It's great for fuel efficiency but not so great for collisions.

Absolutely. If Tour H3 is selling like hotcakes Maruti's got no reason to innovate. It's holding back the whole segment.

I disagree. Other manufacturers have to think outside the box once Tour H3 finds success. That's innovation based on trying to beat the Tour H3, and look at all the new features in competing models.

It's a double-edged sword. With the Tour H3's dominance, parts and repairs are cheap and easy, good for taxi operators. It does make it harder for new ideas to break through, but yeah.

We’re thinking about it wrong, I think. It is in the EV space where the real innovation is taking place. Affordable electric taxis will put an end to the days of the Tour H3.

Maruti isn't stupid. Behind the scenes they’re probably working on the next big thing. With the success of the Tour H3 they have the resources to innovate without having to rush half baked ideas to market.

Absolutely! Taxi operators are all about fuel efficiency. The lack of power is easily made up for by savings on fuel. You don’t really need that extra oomph in city traffic, anyway.

No way. I can tell you as a taxi driver, lack of power is a real issue especially when you’re fully loaded or merging onto highways. It's not just about speed, of course, it's about safety as well.

It really depends on where you’re operating. The Tour H2 is perfect in flat, urban areas. However, it could be a problem in hilly regions or highway rich routes because of the lack of power.

You all forget about passenger comfort. Less power for a car means it feels strained and you don’t have a comfortable ride. If it saves money, what is the cost to customer satisfaction?

As a fleet manager the Tour H2 is great. This means we can keep our cars on the road for longer between fill ups, and ultimately increase productivity. It's worth the power trade off.

I believe we are missing the environmental side. Lower power is also lower emissions. This could be a big advantage for taxi operators in increasingly eco conscious cities.

Most taxi trips are short and in slow traffic, so let’s be real. For the majority of taxi use cases, the high fuel efficiency is way more relevant than top end power.

It's definitely a concern. Any commercial vehicle should have safety as its number one priority. Not stocking advanced safety features on the Tour H2 is a big miss from Maruti and could be a liability by fleet operators.

I disagree. All legal safety requirements are met by the Tour H2. Nice as these advanced features are, they come with a price. This means that smaller operators can afford newer, inherently safer vehicles than the older ones that they might otherwise use.

As a fleet manager, I'm torn. Lower price is attractive, but I am concerned about accidents costs and the reputation hit we may suffer if our passengers perceive our vehicles as unsafe.
