People need to understand that you can't have power and great fuel efficiency in this segment. Since the XUV300 was tuned for performance, the fuel economy hit is expected.

It's not a great fuel efficiency, but it's not a deal breaker for me. There are safety features and the build quality, which take up an extra fuel cost.

It's all about driving style. By avoiding harsh acceleration and keeping speeds steady where possible I've been able to get decent efficiency.

In fact, the ride quality is pretty good. I’ve driven on some bad roads and the XUV300 does way better than my previous hatchback.

Suspension is a little too stiff for me. It’s great for handling, but on bad roads, you feel every bump. Long drives don't make my back happy.

Cornering wise it's great, but the stiff suspension can be uncomfortable in the city. I'll take the good handling as a trade off.

I think the ride quality is just ok after a year of driving. Not horrible, but not as good as I was expecting from Mahindra's claims about the European tuned suspension.

It’s really a matter of tire pressure. I discovered that a slightly lower pressure than the recommended level made a big difference to ride comfort with no real loss of handling.

I’ve had my XUV300 for three years now and it still feels solid. Nothing major, just your regular maintenance here and there. Definitely the build quality matches the safety ratings.

The build quality is good and Mahindra’s service centers are hit or miss. If you can't get proper service, good build quality doesn't mean a thing.

The XUV300 feels like a tank coming from a Maruti. Ok, there are some minor issues but it just feels much more robust than it's competitors.

For a car its structure seems to be solid, but some interior materials are cheap and have started to wear quickly. Quality wise it’s a mixed bag.

I believe that people expect too much. Still, it's an affordable Indian car. For the price point build quality and reliability are good and you get so many safety features.

The tiny boot is honestly a pain. It’s something that I’ve been constantly bugged about ever since I got my XUV300 a year back. Not even able to stuff a week's worth of groceries without folding the rear seats.

People make it out to sound a lot worse than it actually is. It’s fine for day to day use unless you are constantly hauling large items. I had taken road trips with my family of four without any problems.
