The real question here is how usable that third row is going to be. Basically, if it's cramped, it's not worth the performance trade off. The packaging is critical for Mahindra.

Electric powertrains are different, and you’re all forgetting it. With that much power, the extra weight might not negatively affect performance as much as you’d think.

I'm more worried about range. In an EV every extra kilo counts. A fully loaded 7-seater configuration could have a major impact on the range from something like 120 to under 60 miles.

It could actually be brilliant. Picture a 7 seater that can beat most 5 seater ICE SUVs. This would be unique to the market.

The price has to equal the total cost of ownership. So, if you are going to run it long term, a higher upfront cost might be okay if it's cheaper to run.

They are for different purposes. The Thar.e is for daily use and short trips, the ICE Thar is for serious off-roading where charging is an issue.
