Absolutely! The Neo Plus is a tank. They'll outlast those fancy compact SUVs that'll fall apart after a few years of rough use.

No way. You can buy a much more modern, safer, more fuel efficient car for the same money. In comparison, the Neo Plus feels like a dinosaur.

It depends on your needs. If you often have to have 7+ people, the Neo Plus is the one to go for. That is something that most compact SUVs can't do comfortably.

The truth is, the Neo Plus really isn’t special at all. There’s no touchscreen, no sunroof, and basic safety kit. It's hard to justify in 2024.

You all forget about maintenance costs. The Neo Plus is easy and inexpensive to fix. But those high tech SUVs are going to be a fortune to maintain out of warranty.

I'd say it is in a class of its own. It’s hard to compare it with compact SUVs. For people who need a no nonsense people mover and not a fashion statement.

Surprisingly, the resale value on these is good. If you're thinking of upgrading in a couple years, that's something to think about.
While the Bolero Neo Plus is no match to other budget SUVs off the road, it does manage to keep you afloat.

Surprisingly capable off road! It has the great high ground clearance and robust suspension and makes a good use while riding rough trails. It's not a Thar, for sure, but it will handle most situations the average user will encounter.

Let's not kid ourselves. It's not a real off roader without 4x4. If it can handle a dirt road, ask for trouble and try anything more challenging.

I think people overestimate how much off roading they will actually do. The Neo Plus is more than enough for the occasional gravel road or muddy field.

In fact, the long wheelbase is working against it off road. Shorter SUVs will clear obstacles that it'll bottom out on.

You're all missing the point. The point is that it's not meant to be a hardcore off roader. It's made to handle bad roads and some rough terrain and it does this well.

Mine has gone down some pretty gnarly forest roads without fail. Driving sensibly and knowing the car's limits is all it’s about.

The real advantage is that it is simple. And if something does break off road, it's a heck of a lot easier and cheaper to repair than a more complicated SUV.
Is the basic interior of the Bolero Neo Plus outdated, or is it a selling point for who it is targeting?

In fact, the basic interior is a plus. It's hard to break, easy to clean, and you don't need to be a computer science major to use the AC. It is perfect for its target market.

Come on, it's 2024. Touchscreens are even on budget cars now. The Neo Plus feels like it's from the past. The interior is pretty basic; although they’ve managed to charge $72k for them, I struggle to see any justification for that price.

Mahindra missed an opportunity here, I think. If they had wanted, they could have kept it simple while making it seem more modern. It wouldn't hurt to have a basic touchscreen.

The target market, you’re all forgetting. This is for people who care about function, not form. Less will go wrong over time as the interior is simple.

I’d actually much rather have the physical buttons and knobs. Of course, using a touchscreen on a bumpy road is a sorry proposition, so you'll appreciate the Neo Plus's layout.

Price is reflected in the lack of features. If you want the bells and whistles, be prepared to pay more. It's as simple as that.
