I opted for better highway cruising by swapping the sprockets. It sacrificed a bit of acceleration, but it's way more comfortable now.

I'd say it's 50/50. The price difference isn’t worth it to me as a casual rider, but the upgrades are nice.

It’s been reliable, but parts are expensive, and finding some parts can be hard. The trade-off you make for a more exotic bike.
