People make it out to be worse than it is. In the city I get about 35-40 km/l; considering it is a sports bike, it is decent. It’s even better on highway mileage.

But the fuel efficiency is pretty terrible when compared to other 125cc bikes. In city riding I'm lucky if I get 30 km/l. I guess that's the price you pay for that KTM performance.

That really all depends on how you ride. You're going to drink fuel if you're always redlining and riding hard. It's not too bad with normal riding, though.

After the first 1000 km, I found the fuel efficiency to be improved. The engine is clearly in a break-in period.

The RC 125 uses more fuel than my friend’s Yamaha R15. The difference isn’t huge, 5-7 km/l on average less.

Fuel efficiency is fine, but the small tank size means you’ll be filling up more often. Maybe that's why people think it's less efficient.

With mixed city and highway riding, I average about 38 km/l. Not great, but not terrible. But don't expect scooter-like efficiency.

Its engine is performance-oriented. If you are on the lookout for a bike that will save you fuel, well mate, you’ve come to the wrong place.

By avoiding sudden accelerations, keeping the RPMs low, and, by consequence, decreasing the amount of fuel consumed, I've been able to improve my mileage by about 10%. It requires some practice, but it can be done.

Fuel efficiency is just okay, but then again you have a high-performance 125cc engine. It's a trade-off between performance and efficiency.

And I would say go for something cheaper and more forgiving. New riders may find the RC 125's aggressive riding position uncomfortable, and parts are expensive.

It depends on your goals. The RC 125 is a great introduction to sport bikes and something to grow into if you’re into sport bikes and want to move up to more powerful machines. However, if you are just commuting, there are probably better options.

I began on RC 125 and enjoyed it. I learned a lot about cornering and handling on the bike. People will always ask when you're upgrading to a "real" bike, so you should just prepare yourself for that.

It's honestly a bit overpriced for what it is. For the same price, you could get a used 250cc or 300cc and have more room to grow as a rider.

If you are 100% sure you want a sports bike, I'd recommend it. The ergonomics will make you ready for bigger sport bikes in the future. It’s not the most comfortable for long rides, but just be aware of that.

I began on one, and it was perfect. There was enough power to be fun, but not enough power to get me into serious trouble while I was learning. The only bad thing was that I grew out of it pretty fast.

Consider your local roads. The more highways you have, the more the RC 125 may seem underpowered. It’s a blast for city riding and twisty back roads, though.
