The question is how does the Kia Sonet's build quality stack up against its rivals?

After having test driven most cars in this segment, I feel build of the Sonet is on par with the Venue and Brezza. It's not as tank like as the Nexon, but it's far from flimsy.

The older model definitely feels more solid than the 2024 facelift. The fit and finish is better than before and Kia has seemingly fixed some the panel gap issues.

I can vouch for Sonet’s build quality as a person who has been in a minor fender bender with my Sonet. The car did really well with very little damage. Real world performance is not just about crash tests.

I believe we can’t just stop at the body anymore. The Sonet's suspension components and chassis seem very stiff. You couldn’t ask for a better built vehicle, and it handles bad roads without rattles or squeaks.
Does the Kia Seltos X-Lines sporty style match up to its performance?

Absolutely! The X-Line has plenty of punch thanks to its turbo engine and the stiffer suspension makes it handle way better than you'd expect from a small SUV.

It's all show and no go. The X Line looks great, but it drives like any other Seltos. I was expecting a more hot hatch feel.
Does the Kia Seltos X-Lines sporty style match up to its performance?

Considering what it is, a compact SUV, the X Line does pretty well. It's not a sports car, but it's quick enough to be fun in a daily driver.
Does the Kia Seltos X-Lines sporty style match up to its performance?

The DCT does jerky feel in city driving but it has decent performance. For something that looks this sporty it’s not as smooth as I’d like.
Does the Kia Seltos X-Lines sporty style match up to its performance?

I believe it’s a good compromise. While not as practical as most SUVs in its class, it is also far sportier. Also, the looks alone make me feel as if I'm driving something special.
Is paying a premium for the regular Seltos worth it when you can get the X Line exclusive features?
03 January 2025 12:27
Definitely worth it! But the X-Line looks a lot more premium, and those extra features like the 360 degree camera and Heads up display are super useful.
Is paying a premium for the regular Seltos worth it when you can get the X Line exclusive features?
03 January 2025 12:27
Not really. Mostly cosmetic upgrades and you’re paying a lot extra for it. The regular Seltos is just as good and cheaper.

It depends on what you value. The X Line is for you if you want to stand out and you don’t mind paying for uniqueness. If you are more practical, go with the regular models.
Is paying a premium for the regular Seltos worth it when you can get the X Line exclusive features?

I would say that alone it is worth it for the top tier engine option. It’s just a bonus extra style.
Is paying a premium for the regular Seltos worth it when you can get the X Line exclusive features?

The cool features of the X-Line are there, but I'd prefer that those be available as individual options versus as a whole package. I want to be able to pick and choose what I want.
Does the Seltos X-Line’s interior quality hold up to more premium brands?
03 January 2025 12:27
The interior of the X-Line impressed me. Materials feel high quality and design is modern. It’s not quite Audi level, but for the price you can’t really complain.
Does the Seltos X-Line’s interior quality hold up to more premium brands?
03 January 2025 12:27
For a Kia, it’s good, but it’s not up to par with a true luxury brand. Some areas feel cheap, in terms of plastics, and the overall fit and finish doesn't quite make it, either.
Does the Seltos X-Line’s interior quality hold up to more premium brands?
03 January 2025 12:27
I think it hits a sweet spot. It’s 90% of the premium feel at 70% of the cost of a luxury brand. That's more than enough for most people.

03 January 2025 12:27
In fact the tech in the X Line is better than some luxury cars I've been in. It’s really upscale feeling with all the big screens and features.

It's all smoke and mirrors. It’s fine at a glance, but you can see where they cut corners if you spend any time in it. You get what you pay for.

03 January 2025 12:27
I love the DCT in my X-Line! It super shifts quick and makes the car feel very sporty. It's awesome once you get used to it.
