The interior looks very clean, but I will admit it can be a bit of a pain to adjust the AC while on the road. It still feels premium, though.

As a person who is not super tech savvy, I don't like that there are no physical buttons. I miss being able to adjust things without looking at the road.

I had to get used to it, it took me a week or two, but now I love the tech heavy interior. Driving this thing feels like I’m in a spaceship versus my old car!

I'm afraid those touch panels will not last very long. In a few years, what happens when the screen starts to get glitchy? It seems like an expensive fix.

It's cool tech, but I wish Hyundai had settled on a middle ground. Perhaps physical controls for the things you want to have control of all the time, like your climate and volume, but then touch for the things you want to adjust less often?

I'm all for it as a gadget lover. With technology, cars should evolve and the Tucson does feel modern and up to date. What’s more, software can get better over time with updates.

The touch controls were just so different, I actually returned my Tucson. Everything else about the car I loved but safety has to come first for me so it's a shame.
Is the Hyundai Tucson value proposition still the best thing on the block?

I cross shopped the Tucson with the BMW X1 and honestly, I felt the Hyundai was more premium inside. It doesn’t have the badge, but I got way more features for my money.
Is the Hyundai Tucson value proposition still the best thing on the block?

The Tucson is a Hyundai, and it's nice, but it's still a Hyundai. It’s a particular feeling you get when driving a luxury brand that the Tucson can’t come close to, no matter how many features they stuff in.
Is the Hyundai Tucson value proposition still the best thing on the block?

I've owned luxury and non luxury brands, and I can tell you the gap is narrowing. The Tucson is a high quality build with some nice features, and I don't miss my old Audi as much as I thought I would.
Is the Hyundai Tucson value proposition still the best thing on the block?

It really all depends on what you want. The Tucson is unbeatable if you’re after the latest tech and features. If you’re after brand prestige and driving dynamics, however, you may be happier with a luxury brand.

Hyundai is killing it with value, I think. Why buy a stripped down luxury model when you can have all the bells and whistles in a Tucson? All it needs is the snob appeal.
Is the Hyundai Tucson value proposition still the best thing on the block?

A loaded Tucson is still cheaper than most base model luxury SUVs, let's be real. In the long run, you will also save on maintenance costs. If you’re practical, it’s a no brainer.
Is the Hyundai Tucson value proposition still the best thing on the block?

I drove both and ended up with the Tucson. Luxury brands felt a little outdated compared to the tech. I’m not the target luxury buyer, but I’d rather have modern features than a fancy badge.
Is the Hyundai Tucson's ADAS system a game changer or just another over hyped feature?
03 January 2025 06:52
The ADAS features on my Tucson are one of my favorites! Adaptive cruise control makes highway driving far less stressful. It’s not perfect, but it has definitely made my commute more enjoyable.
Is the Hyundai Tucson's ADAS system a game changer or just another over hyped feature?

The lane keeping assist is honestly more annoying than helpful. It's always beeping at me or nudging the wheel. Most of the time, I end up turning it off.
Is the Hyundai Tucson's ADAS system a game changer or just another over hyped feature?
03 January 2025 06:52
I came to enjoy ADAS features as someone who was skeptical from the start. They do not replace attentivdriving, but the extra layer of safety is one that is reassuring.
Is the Hyundai Tucson's ADAS system a game changer or just another over hyped feature?
03 January 2025 06:52
These systems are expected to do too much. They're not self driving tech, they're driver assists. Once I got my expectations in order, they were very useful, especially in heavy traffic.
Is the Hyundai Tucson's ADAS system a game changer or just another over hyped feature?
03 January 2025 06:52
On rural roads or in bad weather, the ADAS in my Tucson gets confused, but on well marked highways it works great. It’s a nice feature to have, but it’s not a game changer.
Is the Hyundai Tucson's ADAS system a game changer or just another over hyped feature?

But I’m also worried that these systems make people too reliant on technology. Drivers assume the car will do everything and I’ve seen drivers paying less attention. It's a bit concerning.
