It’s decent for a stock exhaust, but don’t expect it to sound like a proper hot hatch. It’s a nice sporty touch without going over the top.

It's all fake. Just sound, artificial sound pumped through the speakers. It totally ruins the authenticity of the driving experience.

It's pretty good for a 1.0L engine. There's no VW GTI levels of exhaust note to be had, though.

The NVH is the real problem, the exhaust note is fine. At higher RPMs, the engine itself is quite buzzy.

It's definitely a step up. It carries the red accents, N badging, the seats are more supportive, so a little more special feeling.

It's mostly the same as the regular i20, meh. A couple red stitches won’t make it premium.

It's a mixed bag. It’s a bit of a mixed bag, some parts feel premium, some feel like they cut corners. Although, the steering wheel is great.

The biggest upgrade are the seats. A much more comfortable car on long drives than the regular i20.

It's risky. Hyundai has always been strong at offering good value. As well as that, moving upmarket could alienate their core customers without winning over luxury buyers.

The key will be execution. If the Ioniq 9 is truly a premium experience, it may raise the whole brand. If it overreaches, though, it will fall short.
