How does the Transalp's electronics package stack up against its competitors?
21 January 2025 10:53
It's fine for the price point, but if you want the latest and greatest tech, you'll need to look at more expensive options. Can't have everything at this price.
How does the Transalp's parallel-twin engine compare to V-twins in terms of character and rideability?
21 January 2025 10:53
The parallel-twin in the Transalp is smooth as butter. Yes, it doesn’t have that V-twin rumble to it, but it has plenty of character and pulls like a train in the midrange.
How does the Transalp's parallel-twin engine compare to V-twins in terms of character and rideability?

I miss the V-twin thump. The parallel twin just feels a bit soulless in comparison, even if it's more efficient.
How does the Transalp's parallel-twin engine compare to V-twins in terms of character and rideability?
21 January 2025 10:53
It's a different kind of character. The parallel-twin revs more freely and feels more modern. It's not worse, just different.
How does the Transalp's parallel-twin engine compare to V-twins in terms of character and rideability?

Honda's done a great job with the 270-degree crank. It's got a nice growl and feels torquey down low, almost V-twin-like.
How does the Transalp's parallel-twin engine compare to V-twins in terms of character and rideability?
21 January 2025 10:53
Rideability-wise, the parallel-twin is hard to beat. It's smoother at highway speeds and doesn't vibrate as much as some V-twins I've ridden.
How does the Transalp's parallel-twin engine compare to V-twins in terms of character and rideability?
21 January 2025 10:53
I think people overstate the importance of engine configuration. A well-designed parallel-twin can be just as characterful as a V-twin. It's all in the tuning.
How does the Transalp's parallel-twin engine compare to V-twins in terms of character and rideability?
21 January 2025 10:53
It doesn’t have the grunt of a V-twin, but it’s more versatile. It's happy to cruise or rev out when you need it.
How does the Transalp's parallel-twin engine compare to V-twins in terms of character and rideability?
21 January 2025 10:53
After riding both, I prefer the Transalp's engine. It's more refined and feels more modern. V-twins are cool, but they're starting to feel a bit old-school.
How does the Transalp's parallel-twin engine compare to V-twins in terms of character and rideability?
21 January 2025 10:53
Nothing beats a V-twin for character. The parallel-twin is fine, but it lacks that special something that makes you grin every time you twist the throttle.
How does the Transalp's parallel-twin engine compare to V-twins in terms of character and rideability?

It's horses for courses. The parallel twin suits the Transalp's all-rounder nature perfectly. It's got enough poke to be fun without being intimidating.
Does the Transalp's lack of tubeless wheels limit its adventure potential?
21 January 2025 10:53
It's not ideal, but it's not a deal breaker either. Most riders won't notice the difference, and tubes are easier to fix in the middle of nowhere.
Does the Transalp's lack of tubeless wheels limit its adventure potential?
21 January 2025 10:53
Definitely limits its potential. Tubeless is the way to go for adventure riding. Easier to plug and keep going without removing the wheel.
Does the Transalp's lack of tubeless wheels limit its adventure potential?
21 January 2025 10:53
I think Honda missed the mark here. Tubeless wheels should be standard on any modern adventure bike, even if it's more road-oriented.
Does the Transalp's lack of tubeless wheels limit its adventure potential?
21 January 2025 10:53
It's only a limitation if you let it be. Plenty of people have crossed continents on bikes with tubed tires. It's more about the rider than the bike.
Does the Transalp's lack of tubeless wheels limit its adventure potential?
21 January 2025 10:53
For the average rider doing light off-road stuff, it won't matter. But for those planning serious adventures, it might be a reason to look elsewhere.
Does the Transalp's lack of tubeless wheels limit its adventure potential?
21 January 2025 10:53
I actually prefer tubed tires for real off-road use. They're more reliable in extreme conditions and less likely to unseat from the rim.
Does the Transalp's lack of tubeless wheels limit its adventure potential?
21 January 2025 10:53
It's a compromise, like everything else on an adventure bike. Honda probably chose tubes to keep costs down and improve wheel strength.
Does the Transalp's lack of tubeless wheels limit its adventure potential?
21 January 2025 10:53
The lack of tubeless wheels is disappointing, but it's not the end of the world. You can always convert them to tubeless with aftermarket kits if it bothers you that much.
Does the Transalp's lack of tubeless wheels limit its adventure potential?
21 January 2025 10:53
For a bike that's more likely to see tarmac than dirt, tubed wheels are fine. It's not like most Transalp owners will be tackling the Dakar Rally.
