The CT 150X's performance is enough for occasional highway use, or is it only a city commuter?

On a couple of 200km trips I’ve taken my CT 150X and it surprised me how well it handled them. Cruising at 80-85 km/h is comfortable, and that's most of the highways you'll be driving on.

Good for short highway stints, but I wouldn't do it for long trips. After an hour or so at higher speeds, the vibrations start to get annoying.

I think that it's actually more capable on highways than people give it credit for. It's no tourer, but for the odd weekend getaway it's fine.

I commute 60km daily on mixed roads, and it’s good enough for highways. But you're not going to be overtaking a lot of vehicles.

On my highway use I find it lacking. Above 90 km/h it feels strained, and the lack of wind protection makes longer rides tiring. This one just sticks to city roads.

It's a decent all-rounder. I've done a few 300km day trips without problem. The trick is to not overdo it and take breaks.

On highways, it’s ok for solo riding. It feels a bit underpowered, but add a pillion or some luggage and it starts to feel underpowered. Good for short highway runs, but not good for touring.
Is the Bajaj CT 150X really the hype it is, for big guys?

I can definitely say the CT 150X is surprisingly comfortable, being a 6'2" guy weighing 95kg. It’s the right handlebar height, and the seat is wide enough for me. Nothing to complain on longer rides.

I'm not convinced. I'm 5'10" and 85kg and find the footpegs a bit too high. It’s fine for short commutes, but anything more than an hour and my knees start whining.

It's decent for what you pay but it's no cruiser. If you're over 6 feet you may want to check out something like the Avenger 160.

I actually really like it for bigger guys. The suspension is fine for my 100kg frame and the power is enough for city riding. Plus, it’s much more affordable than most alternatives.

It's a mixed bag. The overall ergonomics are good for taller riders, the seat is comfy. I ended up installing a handlebar riser, which made the world of a difference.

I'm 5'8" and on the heavier side, and I think it's perfect. One of the few bikes in this segment that doesn't make me feel like I am riding a toy.

People are expecting too much from a budget commuter, I think. The CT 150X does a good job for what it is, accommodating larger riders. And don't expect it to be premium comfort.
How does the CT 150X fare with pillion riders in its class?
15 January 2025 09:53
In my opinion, the CT 150X is better at carrying pillion riders than most bikes in its class. It has a firm enough suspension so as to not bottom out and the grab rails are in good positions.

I disagree. The pillion seat appeals too narrow and hard. After rides longer than 30 minutes, my girlfriend always complains. Passengers will find the TVS Raider much more comfortable.

It's okay, but not great. Two people make the bike feel just a bit underpowered for some inclines. It gets the job done for short city rides, but nothing more.

I believe that it’s one of the better options in its price range for pillion comfort. It feels secure with a passenger, but the long seat and sturdy build make it feel that way.
How does the CT 150X fare with pillion riders in its class?

The CT 150X is decent, I’ve been a pillion rider myself. It has a wide enough seat and easy to grab rails. However, the suspension can be softer for a more comfortable drive.

It's a mixed bag. With a passenger, the bike remains really easy to handle, but on highways, the engine pulls very hard. Good for city use, no so good for long trips.
