Higher end rentals definitely have better ride quality. If you don’t mind a little more bump, though, the Jaunty i Pro is a decent alternative for the price.

I use both. On my regular commute I have the Jaunty i Pro, and for spontaneous trips or when I am in a different part of town, I rent. Best of both worlds!

The bad news is that the battery isn't a simple swappable affair on the Jaunty i Pro. For longer rides this is a bummer, but having the standard range is plenty for my everyday needs.

I'd heard rumors of swappable aftermarket batteries but nothing official. I'd love to extend the range for weekend trips though, so that would be a great feature.

The dealbreaker for me is the non swappable battery. I want the flexibility to just go out on a longer ride and not have to worry about running out of juice.

There are some DIY tutorials out there for the battery to be removable, but it will void the warranty. Some might find it worth the risk, but I am not risking it.

The Jaunty i Pro has been my ride for my 5km commute for the past 3 months and it’s been a game changer. It's super convenient to zipping through traffic and I'm saving a ton on gas. It's for the price, you can't beat it.

I sent mine back after a week, meh. It was way less range than advertised and it felt cheap. You get what you pay for, and I’d rather spend a little more on a higher quality scooter that will last.

I think there’s too much expectation for a budget e scooter. The Jaunty i Pro is more than enough for short trips around the city. It won't replace your car for longer journeys, though.

I'm torn. It’s got great convenience factor, but I’ve had some build quality issues. Now it’s fine, but I don’t know how long it will last with daily use. Perhaps a better idea would be to invest in a more durable model.

I also love the fact that it is emission free, being an eco-conscious rider. Yes, there are fancier options out there, but the Jaunty i Pro doesn’t break the bank and does the job. This is a step towards sustainable urban transport.

I've ridden mine in light rain just fine. The tyres do seem to grip well, but I wouldn’t go pushing it in the rain. Use common sense and slow down when it is wet.

I honestly don't ride in the rain. There is simply no point in taking the risk of ruining the electronics or wiping out. The Jaunty i Pro isn’t totally waterproof.
