Our take on this /// Verdict
The Volkswagen Tiguan petrol is a compelling option in the premium SUV segment, offering a blend of luxury, performance, and comfort. While it comes with a thirsty 2.0 TSI petrol engine, which can be a concern given the current petrol prices, it delivers solid performance with 190hp and 320Nm of torque. The DSG gearbox is smooth and quick, making it a joy to drive, especially when driven at moderate speeds. The cabin is extremely spacious, quiet, and well-appointed with high-quality materials, making it ideal for both city driving and long road trips. However, the price tag of Rs 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom) places it in a competitive bracket with other luxury SUVs, and the lack of diesel option may deter some buyers. Despite these considerations, the Tiguan remains a top choice for those seeking a refined, comfortable, and feature-rich SUV.
Price
The Volkswagen Tiguan petrol is priced at Rs 31.99 lakh (ex-showroom) in India, which positions it in the higher end of the premium SUV market. On-road prices can vary depending on the state and local taxes, but you can expect to pay around Rs 35-40 lakh once all the costs are factored in. This pricing puts the Tiguan in competition with other luxury SUVs like the Citroen C5 Aircross, rather than more affordable options like the Jeep Compass or Hyundai Tucson. While the price may seem steep, the Tiguans luxurious interior, advanced features, and smooth performance justify the cost for those who value these aspects.
Latest Updates
Thursday, 21 November 2024 11:37 AM
The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan has been redesigned with a sleeker look, inspired by the ID.4, and features a wide horizontal line of lights. The new design is bulkier but with gentle curves, giving it a more mature appearance. I think this new look will appeal to those looking for a modern and sophisticated SUV.
Thursday, 21 November 2024 11:52 PM
The 2025 Volkswagen Tiguan will come with a more powerful turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, producing 201 horsepower, a 17-hp increase over the previous model. This engine is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and will be available in front- or all-wheel drive. I believe this boost in power will make the Tiguan more competitive in its segment.
Thursday, 21 November 2024 12:56 PM
Volkswagen has enhanced the safety features of the 2025 Tiguan, adding four new airbags and bringing the total to 10. The vehicle also includes Volkswagens IQ.Drive suite of driver assists, which includes semi-autonomous driving, forward collision warning, and adaptive cruise control. This is a significant step up in safety, making the Tiguan a more secure choice.
Thursday, 21 November 2024 06:18 PM
The 2025 Tiguan has moved more functions to a touchscreen, which might be a point of contention for some users. However, it also features premium materials like genuine American walnut wood décor and upgraded Savona leather interiors, giving the cabin an upscale feel. I think the balance between tech and luxury will be a selling point.
Mileage
Friday, 22 November 2024 02:14 PM
The mileage of the Volkswagen Tiguan petrol is a significant consideration, given its 2.0 TSI engine. In mixed driving conditions, the Tiguan can manage around 10 kmpl, though this can vary significantly based on driving style. If driven conservatively, you might achieve decent fuel efficiency, but aggressive driving can drop the mileage substantially. This makes it crucial to weigh the performance benefits against the potential higher running costs, especially in a market where fuel prices are volatile.

Volkswagen Tiguan Petrol Discussion
price points are going to be aggressive < 19 lacs for top end . also heard they will not launch the 1400 cc in india its going to be 2000 cc - so its going to be a rocker 5 seater
Only hope VW is able to keep the price at par with international price by having it at least assembled here in India. VW susbdiary SKODA already has its compact SUV Yeti in the country. Anticipate VW to price TIGUAN attractively & competitively to achieve volumes for TIGUAN.
it is gonna beat the current selling SUVs as it offers a lot even at such a low price relatively.
Very Nice, thanks for sharing New Tiguan with us.
Good looking and price wise Tiguan is a good SUV.
