Tata Motors has officially discontinued the Tiago JTP and Tigor JTP models, marking the end of their joint venture with Jayem Automotives. The Tata Tiago JTP was known for its enhanced performance features, including a 1.2-litre turbocharged engine producing 112 bhp and 150 Nm of torque, paired with a 5-speed manual transmission. It also boasted a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and auto climate control. I believe these features made it a compelling option for those seeking a sporty drive.

These changes made it stand out from the standard Tiago model. I think the design tweaks were a significant factor in its appeal to performance car enthusiasts.

The Tiago JTP had no direct rivals in the Indian market but competed against cars like the Maruti Baleno RS, Volkswagen Polo GT, and the Abarth Punto. Its unique positioning made it an attractive choice for those looking for a budget-friendly hot hatch. I believe its absence has left a gap in this segment.
