The Tata Safari Pure variant has been updated with new features, but it also loses several key amenities. The new features include a reverse parking camera, a shark-fin antenna, and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. However, it no longer comes with armrests, spare wheels, tyre pressure monitoring systems, LED lighting, and third-row air conditioning vents. The prices of the variant remain unchanged at Rs 16.99 lakh (ex-showroom). I think this balance of added and removed features might appeal to some buyers but could be a letdown for others.

Tata Motors has revised the feature list of the Tata Safari Pure variant, removing features such as AC vents for the third-row occupants, armrest, spare wheel, and roof lights. Despite these deletions, the variant now includes a reverse parking camera and a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. This update aims to streamline the offerings while maintaining the price point. I believe this move could make the Pure variant more competitive in its segment.

In terms of safety, the Tata Safari, including the Pure variant, boasts a robust set of features. Although the Pure variant does not include all the advanced safety features like ADAS, which starts from the Adventure+ variant, it still benefits from the overall safety enhancements of the Safari, such as multiple airbags and other standard safety features. I think this makes it a reliable choice for family buyers.

The Tata Safari Pure variant is powered by a Fiat-sourced 2.0-litre, 4-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine that produces 170hp of power and 350Nm of torque. This engine is paired with either a 6-speed manual or a 6-speed torque converter, providing a smooth driving experience. This powertrain is consistent across all variants, ensuring the Pure trim is not compromised in terms of performance.

The design of the Tata Safari Pure variant remains in line with the overall grand and premium design of the Safari. While it may not have all the luxurious features of the higher trims, it still carries the contemporary and premium updates that make the Safari stand out. I believe the subtle design elements make it an attractive option for those looking for a stylish SUV without the high-end price tag.

The Tata Safari Pure variant comes with a range of standard features, although it lacks some of the luxurious amenities found in higher trims. It still offers a comfortable and feature-rich interior, making it a good balance between price and functionality. I believe this balance is key to its appeal in the Indian market.
