The 2024 Maruti Swift, which replaces the diesel variants, now comes with a new 1.2-litre 3-cylinder Z-Series petrol engine, eliminating the diesel option. This new engine is expected to offer better fuel efficiency and more torque, though it is less refined than the older 4-cylinder unit. I believe this shift towards petrol will appeal more to city commuters but might disappoint those who preferred the diesels torque.

Maruti Suzuki has announced that the new Swift will be offered in five variants: LXi, VXi, VXi(O), ZXi, and ZXi(O), with the AMT option available from the VXi trim onwards. The prices start at Rs 6.49 lakh and go up to Rs 9.59 lakh. I think the inclusion of AMT in more variants will enhance the cars appeal in urban markets.

The new Maruti Swift features significant design updates, including sharper LED headlights, a blacked-out honeycomb mesh front grille, and squarish taillamps. The car is also 15 mm longer, 30 mm taller, and 40 mm narrower than the previous model. I believe these subtle changes will give the Swift a fresh and sporty look.

Additionally, the car includes a 360-degree camera, reverse camera, and cruise control. I think these safety upgrades will significantly boost the cars appeal to safety-conscious buyers.
