The brand Fronx is derived from the phrase ‘FRONtier NeXt’. The makers wanted to go beyond the traditional design for our new SUV vehicle, so the name Fronx arose from this ambition to push the boundaries.

Maruti wanted to distinguish themselves from the Fronx. For their bigger SUVs, they have a 1.5-litre engine paired with two of their SUVs. Additionally, the smaller SUVs offer a 1.2-litre or 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine. To give customers fuel efficiency and optimised performance, they have the larger K-series Dual Jet engine, while those looking for more power can pick the stronger unit. To be more competitive, they have localised the Boosterjet engine, which was initially used in the Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS, to give their customers great value for money.

Maruti Suzuki has introduced the new Delta Plus (O) variant of the Fronx, which now comes with 6 airbags, including side and curtain airbags, enhancing the safety features of the vehicle. This variant is priced at Rs. 8.93 lakh for the manual transmission and Rs. 9.43 lakh for the automatic transmission, making it a more affordable option for those seeking advanced safety without the higher cost of the top Zeta and Alpha variants. I believe this move will significantly boost the appeal of the Fronx to safety-conscious buyers.

The Delta Plus (O) variant of the Maruti Suzuki Fronx is notable for replacing the standard spare wheel with a tyre puncture repair kit, a unique feature in the Fronx lineup. This change, along with the addition of 6 airbags, positions the Delta Plus (O) as a compelling mid-level option that balances affordability and safety. I think this innovative approach to safety and convenience will attract a lot of attention from potential buyers.

The vehicle is available in 10 different colors and features a 5-speed AMT transmission, making it a versatile choice for urban and highway driving. I believe the combination of good mileage and comfortable ride quality makes this variant a solid option in its segment.

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx Delta Plus AMT is priced at Rs. 9.22 lakh (ex-showroom) in New Delhi, with an on-road price of around Rs. 10.26 lakh. This variant includes features like ISOFIX child seat mounts, hill assist, and a rear defogger, making it well-equipped for its price. I think the value-for-money proposition here is quite strong, especially considering the mileage of 22.89 kmpl.

The Fronx Delta Plus (O) variant is only available with the 1.2-litre normal petrol engine and comes with transmission options of a 5-speed manual and a 5-speed AMT. This setup ensures that buyers can opt for the normal petrol engine without compromising on safety, as it now includes the additional airbags. I believe this flexibility in engine and transmission choices will be a major selling point for this variant.
