The brand Fronx is derived from the phrase ‘FRONtier NeXt’. The makers wanted to go beyond the traditional design for our new SUV vehicle, so the name Fronx arose from this ambition to push the boundaries.

Maruti wanted to distinguish themselves from the Fronx. For their bigger SUVs, they have a 1.5-litre engine paired with two of their SUVs. Additionally, the smaller SUVs offer a 1.2-litre or 1.0-litre Boosterjet engine. To give customers fuel efficiency and optimised performance, they have the larger K-series Dual Jet engine, while those looking for more power can pick the stronger unit. To be more competitive, they have localised the Boosterjet engine, which was initially used in the Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS, to give their customers great value for money.

Maruti Suzuki has initiated exports of the Fronx model, marking a significant milestone in the companys global expansion strategy. This move underscores Maruti Suzukis commitment to delivering quality and cutting-edge technology to international markets. The Fronxs export journey is a testament to its popularity and reliability. I believe this is a great step for Maruti Suzuki, showcasing their ability to compete globally.

Maruti Suzuki has spotted testing the Fronx with Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in India, although these features are currently only available in models exported to markets like Japan. This suggests that Maruti Suzuki is considering introducing ADAS in their Indian models in the future. I believe integrating ADAS will significantly enhance the safety and appeal of the Fronx.

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx is now available with the Velocity Edition accessories kit across all 14 variants, including the 1.2L petrol and CNG options. This special edition was initially launched with the 1.0-litre turbo-petrol engine and now offers cosmetic changes worth Rs 43,000. I think this expansion will attract more buyers looking for a personalized vehicle.

Maruti Suzuki has launched the Fronx Delta+(O) variant, which is priced at Rs 8.93 lakh and comes with six airbags, adding a significant safety feature over the standard Delta+ variant. This new variant is about Rs 15,000 more expensive than the Delta+ but offers enhanced safety. I believe this addition is a wise move, as safety features are increasingly important to buyers.

The Maruti Suzuki Fronx has crossed the 1 lakh sales milestone in just 10 months since its launch in April 2023. This achievement has helped Maruti Suzuki double its market share in the SUV segment in India. The Fronxs success is a clear indication of its appeal to Indian consumers. I think this rapid sales growth highlights the Fronxs strong market positioning and consumer acceptance.
