Mahindra has ceased the production of the KUV100 NXT, marking the end of an era for this unique SUV-hatchback. The decision comes as the company focuses on other models and export markets where the KUV100 has stronger demand. I believe this move is a strategic one, as the domestic market has seen dwindling sales for the KUV100.

Mahindra had announced the discontinuation of the diesel version of the KUV100 NXT ahead of the Bharat Stage 6 (BS6) regulations. The model will now only be available in petrol and electric variants. The Mahindra KUV100 NXT received a significant facelift in 2017, introducing a bold new look with a redesigned grille, larger alloy wheels, and new tail lamps. The interior also saw upgrades, including a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system and premium finishes. I believe these updates made the KUV100 NXT more appealing, especially to first-time buyers.

This high demand was a positive sign for Mahindra, indicating strong market interest. I believe this initial success showed the potential of the KUV100 NXT, but it didnt sustain over time.
