The Hyundai Verna Transform has been launched in India with a starting price of Rs 6.56 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The new model features cosmetic changes including a new front grille, bumper, and headlamps, as well as updated rear bumpers and tail lamps. I think these changes give the Verna a fresh and modern look.

Hyundai has re-launched the Verna as the Verna Transform, which includes interior updates such as blue backlighting, a new twin-dial instrument cluster with chrome surrounds, and new fabric for the seats. However, it lacks steering-mounted audio controls and airbags, which is a significant oversight. I believe these omissions could impact its appeal in a competitive market.

The Verna Transform retains the same underpinnings as the old Verna, with McPherson struts at the front and a torsion beam at the rear. This suspension setup is designed for a balance between ride comfort and handling, though it can feel a bit slack during high-speed cornering. I think this compromise works well for city and highway driving.

Hyundai Motor India has introduced the Verna Transform with several exterior changes, including new bumpers, fresh headlamps, a new grille, and restyled tail-lamps. The car also features indicators on the side view mirrors, giving it a sporty look.

The Verna Transform is priced competitively, with the base model starting at Rs 6.55 lakh. However, it faces stiff competition from newer models like the Volkswagen Vento, which offers more features and a fresher design. I believe Hyundai could have offered more value for money to stay ahead in the segment.

Despite the updates, the Verna Transform lacks some key features compared to its competitors, such as airbags and steering-mounted audio controls. This could be a significant drawback for potential buyers who prioritize safety and convenience. I think these omissions are quite noticeable in a car priced around Rs 8 lakh.

The interior of the Verna Transform has seen some changes, including the addition of blue backlighting and a new instrument cluster. However, the overall interior styling remains largely unchanged from the previous model. I believe a more comprehensive redesign would have made the Verna Transform more appealing.

Hyundai is expected to launch new models in 2011, including an all-new Accent (Verna) which might debut in late 2011 or early 2012. The current Verna Transform is seen as a stopgap measure to keep the model fresh until the new generation arrives. I think this strategy makes sense given the competitive market.

The Verna Transform offers good legroom, especially in the front row seats, and the rear seats are also comfortable. However, the lack of airbags is a significant concern, especially at a price point where competitors are offering this safety feature. I believe safety should be a priority in any vehicle.

The hydraulic-assisted steering of the Verna Transform feels light and responsive around the center but can feel slack during cornering. This, combined with the softly-sprung suspension, affects the cars handling at high speeds. I think this is an area where Hyundai could improve.
