Which is better - Volkswagen Polo or Hyundai i20?
When it comes to Engine specification, both vehicles can either have a petrol engine or a diesel engine. The Hyundai i20 has a 1.2 litre VTVT Kappa engine that outputs power of 84 PS at 5200 rpm and torque of 11.4kgm at 4000 rpm and has a five speed manual transmission. There is also the automatic version. The vehicle can also come with the diesel engine which is 1.4 litres and can output power of 90 PS at 4000 rpm and a torque of 22.4 kgm at 1750 to 2750 rpm. On the other hand, the Volkswagen Polo has got the 1.2 litre for both petrol and diesel variants. The one for diesel outputs power of 75PS at 4200 rpm and a torque of 110 Nm at 3750 rpm. The diesel one outputs power of 75PS at 4200rpm and a torque of 180 Nm at 2000 rpm.
When it comes to mileage, the Hyundai i20 automatic has a mileage of 11-15 kmpl and the one of 1.4 litre engines has 15 – 17 kmpl. The i20 that uses diesel is fuel efficient and it has a mileage of 18 – 23 kmpl. In Volkswagen Polo, the one that uses petrol has a mileage of 13 kmpl when it comes to city conditions and 17 kmpl when it comes to highway. For the one that uses diesel, it has a mileage of 16 kmpl in city conditions and it is even more fuel efficient when it comes to the highway, 19 – 20 kmpl. The Polo is slightly cheaper compared to the i20. It is priced between Rs 4.61 lakh – Rs 7.12 lakh whereas the latter is priced between Rs 4.73 lakh – Rs 7.67 lakh. Both have several features that are similar but the i20 boasts of Rear Parking Camera.
