When we compare the cars in terms of their looks, then Mahindra XUV500 gets a clean chit. The XUV has a tough honeycomb grille in the front, stylish allow wheels disk brakes etc. Whereas Aria adds a little to the MUV segment, with increased comfort and contemporary styling. The side mirrors are larger than the former and the chrome grille increases its looks.

XUV is powered with the mHawk 5th Gen Diesel turbocharged Engine which delivers 140 bhp at 3750 rpm and a max torque of 330 Nm at 1500-2800 rpm. It gets to the 0-100 km/h mark in just 13 seconds  and has a top speed of 175 km/h. Whereas the latter has the same engine fitted in the Tata Safari's Dicor model which gives out 140 Ps of max output at the rate of 4000 rpm and a max torque of 320 Nm @ 2200 rpm. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 15 seconds. This concludes that Aria is better in pickup but XUV produces more torque. In terms of features, XUV triumphs the battle.

Mahindra leaves behind Aria by just a step as it has a fuel efficiency of 12 km/l but the Aria has 11km/l, in the town . They both give 14 km/l of mileage on the highways. When the price comes to consideration, XUV is available at Rs. 10.88 - Rs. 12.8 Lakhs and the Aria costs a little bit more, i.e. Rs. 12.90 – Rs. 15.50 Lakhs.

This concludes that Mahindra XUV500 is much better than the Tata Aria.
