Škoda Auto, also known as Skoda, is an automobile manufacturer based in the Czech Republic, Škoda became a subsidiary of the Volkswagen Group in 1991, which also contains the car brands Volkswagen, Audi, Bentle, Bugatti, Lamborghini, SEAT and Scania.
Its total sales reached 674,530 cars in 2008. The origins of Škoda go back to the early 1890s where, like many long-established car manufacturers, the company started out with the manufacture of bicycles.
